Pet Peeve #21
Pants on the ground
Gotta love that “General” Larry Platt. Were you aware that he was 62 when he appeared on American Idol in 2010 to perform this original song of his? And that his performance went viral with some 9 million views on YouTube? And that he participated actively in the American Civil Rights Movement (1954-1968) where he earned the moniker, “General?”
I did not.
He addresses my peeve with aplomb
Listen to the video. And should you be at an auditory disadvantage, here are the lyrics:
Pants on the Ground. Pants on the Ground.
Lookin’ like a fool With your pants on the Ground With the gold in your mouth Hat turned sideways Pants hit the ground
Call yourself a cool cat With your pants on the ground
Walkin’ downtown with your pants on the ground! Get it up, hey, get your pants off the ground
Get it up, hey, get your pants off the ground Walkin’, talkin’ with your pants on the ground
Get it up, hey, get your pants on the ground Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground
Gold in your mouth Hat turned sideways
Call yourself a cool cat, yeah, lookin’ like a fool Walkin’, talkin’ with your pants on the ground
Boom, boom, pants on the ground Lookin’ like a fool with your pants on the ground
With your gold in your mouth Hat turned sideways, pants hit the ground
Call yourself a cool cat
